SYSTEMS THINKING & SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES : Poetry - Spring 2006

GROUP 6

More than ever

More than before

More even than now

Pushing all boundaries

Excepting nothing less

She doesn’t know it

I even do not know

All to be

All to have

All to change

Her influence is infinite

            Anna Hillary

Know now,

now that you don’t see me here

That we can still talk,

you can still ask questions,

and can listen to me.

The soft small whisper passing with the wind,

guiding you forward,

pushing you on,

that whisper that says to get up it is time to move.

Keep going this way,

that whisper is me

            Brian Bengry

Family, family and family.

The three most important things in life.

What I wish for you,

Is to be always true,

To your friends and family and wife.

            Matt Johnston

When I was little and I was scared,

you'd hold my hand and "squeeze the fear out of it" until it was all

gone.

When you were diagnosed with cancer,

all you asked for was for me to squeeze the fear out of your hand.

I was too far away and arrived soon, but still

too late.

I remember standing at your bed and holding your hand.

It was cold.

But I still felt it squeezing and always will.

Nicole Hirschfelder

Although the world is tough

The road is full of rocks

I am going to walk it alone with my bare feet

Feeling the pain and the sore

You told me “The way I live is the path I go”

I will lead my delightful life following the wind with your soul.

            Lok Sze Chan

Accomplished many and some dreams have come true

Well respected, helpful, thoughtful, and playful

No need to work so hard, think about your home

No need to become a great person, think about your family

No need to be successful in your career, think about where you grow up

Come home, I cannot fly

            Kozue Nogami

When I was young

He saw a bright future ahead

Full of happiness and love

All the things I dreamed of

He dreamt for me too

Education was very important

Family time was well spent

With vacations each year

Eyes wide for Mickey Mouse each Christmas

He dreamt for me a wonderful life

Health and old age

Years of happiness he may not be there to share

And still today he keeps dreaming

And encouraging

And smiling

A grandfather’s love is endless

            Kelly Koenig

New voices,

Faces

In so many different places

The sun rises with the

Pounding of the hammer

It seems the world forgets

How it once was

Calm and peaceful

Like a cat in a bag

I hope we fight to find

Our way out.

            Dustin Green

Grandpa,

we spent such a short time together

playing cards

playing pranks

laughing

my last memory

is of a specific euchre game

i held the cards for you

you were weak from the treatment

i love that memory

you seemed proud of me

Grandpa,

i hope you are proud of me

i think about you a lot

i didn't have enough time with you

i think we would've been good friends
