ERBN is a group of student innovators working to make business more responsible to the planet and its people while adding value along the way. Each semester the team works with three Madison businesses to improve their triple bottom line People, Planet, and Profit. Each participating business receives a proposal based on their work with ERBN, while the students gain important professional experience.

F.H. King Students for Sustainable Agriculture works to establish a relationship between campus and our land and food. They have multiple agricultural projects, including student gardens, and offer workshops that bring together campus and the Madison community to learn about different aspects of sustainable agriculture.

REthink Wisconsin is a student organization that encourages and facilities sustainable waste management on campus and in the Madison community. With many campaigns concerning the mantra “reduce, reuse, recycle” there are many ways to get involved. Campaigns include Bottle Free Badgers, working to ban single-use plastic water bottles on campus, Athletics Recycling, which diverts up to 40% of our game day waste from landfills, and Edible Landscapes, which provides on campus gardens from students, for students.

Sierra Student Coalition UW-Madison is a student organization that encourages “students to explore, enjoy, and work to protect the wild places of Earth by providing a forum for environmental education, discussion, and action.”

Slow Food UW is a chapter of the international Slow Food movement which promotes “good, clean and fair food for all”. The UW-Madison Slow Food group has five main projects providing healthy food to the UW-Madison campus and the surrounding community. Monday nights they offer $5 Family Dinner Night for students and Wednesday afternoons is their Slow Food Cafe. Whether students are looking for a good meal or a community of volunteers, Slow Food UW is worth a look.

Village Health Project is a register 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on campus working to improve sanitation, nutrition, and education in Uganda. VHP began when UW-Madison students visited Uganda and were inspired help local grassroots organizations working in Uganda achieve their goals.

WE Conserve is a program at UW-Madison offered through the Office of Sustainability. They offer projects, volunteer opportunities, and internships to students looking to become involved in efficient energy, water, material, or transportation use.
